After i looked and analyzed all of three events, i choose 100% Design Tokyo as the event for my furniture to be placed.

Esquisse Four- Understanding Form

Making Process



So for this esquisse, me and Andrew thinking about chair that have flexibility. We came up with an idea to create a stacking chair, so the stacking can be remove or add. Flexible to adult and children. So after we decide to go with this idea, we create a mock up of how the stack will be placed. To make it look's good, we were thinking to placed the stack in different position, which could give sense of movement.


Locking and Detail



To create a stronger structure, we placed honeycomb structure at the top stack, so it could hold more weight.


Final Product



I think we are really happy with our final outcome. It is strong, and looks really nice. The honeycomb structure also work as a decoration for the chair. Another interesting fact was that this chair was made from 100% recyclable cardboard from bikes shop. It doesn't cost anything to create this chair..

So, these are the images showing the function of our chair. It could be a chair or even a coffee table.

Esquisse Three - 'locking System'

Experimentation


In this esquisse, my aim is to create a structure using the minimal material that could hold 100kg weight. I've make 3 model. First, i created a box with diagonal sheet inside, it's work with my weight, however, i still wasn't satisfied with it, as i'm not sure if it could hold 100kg. The next model was the long piece of cardboard that roll together, it was really strong, but it doesn't give the good looking form.


Folding Techniques



Thus, i finally decided to develop the box form, as it use minimal material. Moreove, to make it stronger, i doubled the thickness of the cardboard by folding small part at the top of the cardboard.


Final Outcome



I'm satisfied with the final outcome, as it is stronger and also has a good looking form.
